Supanova 2009 – Melbourne

I attended Supanova in Melbourne today and boy was it fantastic. Last year we didn’t attend the cosplay contest but it was something I wanted to see this year and it was an experience I must say. For those of you who aren’t sure what cosplay is, it is an opportunity for pop-culture fans to dress up as their favourite character and play out a scene or strike a character’s well known pose. The effort put into costumes this year and the thought gone into some of the skits people did were outstanding, I was very impressed.

Overall the event seemed to be bigger than last year, there were a few more exhibitors I hadn’t seen before offering cool things for sale, I picked up a few things including a couple of keychains, Code Geass figurine and a Code Geass novel!! There were also art exhibitors showing their awesome talents.

I definitely can’t wait until Supanova 2010! Hopefully next year I will enter the Fan Art comp too.

For now, we can look forward to Minifest, Manifest and Armageddon. I’ll also post up some Supanova photos and if it works, a few low quality videos.
